How Do I Select a Frame for My Print?
Choosing the right frame enhances your artwork, protects it for the long term, and ensures it fits perfectly in your space. Using Level Frames, the process is designed to be easy and customizable so you can create a museum-quality presentation that matches your style.
Step 1 – Choose Your Print
You can start by selecting a ready-to-frame print from my collection (like Bound by Light and Stone).
Artists using Dot Press can send customers directly to the frame editor from their site.
Step 2 – Select a Frame Style
Browse through different frame finishes:
Fine Grain – Satin Finish (Black Maple, White Maple, etc.)
Rustic / Weathered Grain (Weathered Black, Grey, or Natural)
Furniture-Stain Finishes (Kota Walnut, Cherry, Pecan, Black)
Each frame type offers a distinct look—from sleek and modern to warm and traditional.
Step 3 – Add Matting (Optional)
You can add an archival, acid-free mat to create extra spacing between the artwork and frame.
Matting helps highlight your print, add a professional look, and protect the art from direct contact with glazing.
Step 4 – Select Glazing
Choose from Tru Vue acrylic options, including:
Standard – clear, durable protection
UV Protection – blocks 99% of UV rays
Non-Glare UV – diffuses reflections while protecting
Optium Museum – virtually invisible, anti-reflective, anti-static, abrasion resistant
Step 5 – Preview & Place Your Order
Use the online preview tool to see your art in different frame styles before you buy.
Once you’re happy with the look, simply add to cart and checkout.
General Tips
Match frame tone to the mood of the artwork:
Dark frames → Bold, dramatic art
Light/natural wood → Bright, minimal art
Rich stains → Warm, classic interiors
Consider your room’s decor, wall color, and other frames in the space.
Larger prints often benefit from matting, while smaller prints can look sleek without.
